A group of volunteers in San Francisco’s North Beach have come together to help restaurants in the area stay in business.
The effort is called North Beach Delivers. They provide FREE delivery for restaurants that would otherwise pay hefty fees to delivery companies. As a result, the restaurants are saving tons of money, allowing them to hang in there and hopefully stay in business. The service is free to the costumers who have the food delivered too.
They’re up to 12 volunteers, and counting, and have helped out more than 20 North Beach restaurants so far. The idea is the brainchild of Danny Sauter who said that people in the area are “really trying to support the restaurants.”
North Beach Delivers is expanding to other neighborhoods of San Francisco, and they hope use the same idea for grocery deliveries.
