Meena Kumar was abandoned in Pune, India when she was only nine months old. She spent a year in an orphanage there. She’s now 14 years old.
She was adopted by a family who moved to San Jose. When she arrived in the US, she took a liking to the work that Muttville was doing in San Francisco. Muttville rescues about a thousand older dogs a year.
Meena knew what it was like to be left behind, so she decided to do whatever she could do to get these older pets adopted.
In San Jose she set up a pet sitting service, and was able to raise $7,000 for Muttvile. That amount was matched by Intel, so she was able to raise 14k for Muttville.
