The Benica High School marching band went above and beyond to help out fire victims.
The band had saved up money for a trip to New York. But like so many other things, the pandemic put a stop to those plans. Band competitions were also cancelled.
Instead of holding on to the money they raised for the trips, or spending the cash on other things, the band members put their heads together and donated it all to fire victims. They also collected items that might be needed by fire victims.
Band member Delainey Kelly said “ These people we’re helping are going through harder things than we are at this point.”.
