The Woodward fire near the Point Reyes National Forest in West Marin County is one stubborn blaze.
It’s been burning for over two weeks, and now firefighters are using drones to help them out. The terrain in the area is especially rough, making it very difficult for firefighters to get to where they need to be to set backfires. And, the poor air quality makes it impossible for pilots to fly the aircraft they’d normally rely on. Bring in the drones. The drones are used to set the backfires…essential in fighting the kinds of fires the men and women are battling.
