Nancy Wilson from Heart will be featured in an A&E documentary: “BIOGRAPHY: I WANT MY MTV” on Tuesday, September 8th!
This new documentary charts the rise of a cultural phenomenon that came to define a generation: MTV.
The special weaves together exclusive interviews with the network’s founders and VJs, artists and journalists, along with rarely seen archival footage and outtakes, including an interview with the late David Bowie that was never broadcast on television. The documentary, which premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in 2019 and became a crowd favorite at festivals around the world, details the story of a network that evokes youth for a generation now grown, and influenced the global media landscape for decades to come. Interview subjects include Nancy Wilson, Sting, Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, Billy Idol, Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart, Fab Five Freddy, Norman Lear, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, and Bret Michaels among many others.
Nancy has also released a cover of Bruce Springsteen's song "The Rising." She said: “The Rising has been on my mind as the world has been suffering through such a painful time. Because I’m working on my first solo album in lock down, I’ve been writing new songs as well as covering the songs of others that I figured might be uplifting and aspirational to the people who are suffering with all this sickness and loss.”
