Firefighter fatigue is real. In the words of Captain Rene Torres of Rancho Adobe Fire in Cotati, “I think people are tired of saying new normal. It’s not normal anymore.”
That was right after his crew wrapped up seventeen straight days on the Wallbridge Fire, and they just wrapped up fourteen more. As of last month CAL FIRE crews have fought more than 8,155 fires that have burned over 4 million acres. Thanks so much to our men and women on the front lines.
