The shelter in place has created a huge demand for the companionship of pets of all kinds, but especially dogs. They’re calling it the first Christmas puppy shortage. Record numbers of people are turning to puppies to ease the pain of 2020. But there’s an alternative. If you’re looking for a companion, the best thing to do is skip the breeders, and adopt a mature dog. There are so many places that will help you with that. Muttville in San Francisco, for example.
