Bob Sherman isn’t your run of the mill 94 year-old.
Bob’s been swimming and diving for more than 50 years. The Lafayette resident and World War II vet learned to swim in the Oakland Estuary.
Yesterday Bob competed in the USA Masters Summer Diving Championship at College of Marin in Novato.
His specialty is a front dive with a twist off of the 3-meter springboard. Bob’s the founder of the Sherman Swim School in Lafayette.
He says “I've got to stay vertical at my age. I have friends who can't stay vertical, and it scares the hell out of me" .
