Dog Lost at Airport Found Three Weeks Later

A dog went missing at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Georgia has been found... three weeks after escaping its crate.

The dog, Maia, and her owner Paula Rodriguez, were on their way to San Francisco from the Dominican Republic with a layover in Atlanta. That's when Paula learned that her tourist visa hadn't been approved.

Paula had to spend the night at a Customs and Border Protection facility to await a flight home the next day, and Delta Airlines took custody of Maia, telling her that the canine would meet her at the gate the next day.

But Maia was not at the gate the following day, and she only later learned the canine had escaped.

Fortunately, Maia was found hiding in a cargo storage area - three weeks later!
