Update: 12:10pm: The Tsunami warning has been cancelled for the Bay Area.

11:15am:
USGS says that a magnitude 7.3 earthquake has hit Northern California in Humboldt County, just south of Eureka at 10:44am.
A tsunami warning has been issued by the NWS that is predicted to hit the Bay Area coast by 1:14pm on 12/5/24. The tsunami warning will be in place until 1:40pm today. Bay Area residents have been advised to move away from the coast as a precaution.
The SF Zoo has evacuated their animals and guests. Evacuations are also underway in parts of West Berkeley.
It was initially reported as a 6.6 quake but then was upgraded by USGS.
A 3.3 aftershock hit at 11:25am.
There were no immediate reports of any damage.
Service on BART in the Transbay Tube has temporarily been stopped.
