A 10-year-old Philadelphia Phillies fan is enjoying his 15 minutes of fame after he gave a foul ball he caught to a crying girl.
The touching moment happened Wednesday after Aaron Pressley caught a foul ball that was hit down the third-base line. “I’m following the ball and I see it hit the ground, so I went to go grab it and it was just exciting,” Pressley says. But then, as he was celebrating, "I look over and I see the girl," he says. "She’s crying."
The girl was 7-year-old Emma Brady, who recalls, "A guy, he catched the ball and I tried to get it, but he was too quick. I cried because I fell on my leg." Feeling bad for the stranger, Pressley handed her the ball he'd just caught. “I was like it just didn’t feel right having the ball and knowing that somebody is crying so I had to just give it to her,” he says. Emma's dad, Patrick Brady, says the gesture was "the sweetest thing."
