The axe famously used in the 1980 horror classic ‘The Shining’ just sold at auction for $175K.
The GottaHaveRockandRoll auction house says it was sold to “a successful businessman, who's a big fan of the movie, snagged the axe after winning a bidding war among 12 prospective buyers.”
This is not the first time the axe was on the auction block. It last sold for $61K.
