North Bay Cats Are Reunited With Their Owners After Being Lost For A Year!

While we are focused on the current fires in the Bay Area, I'm sure none of us have forgotten the devastating fires in the North Bay from last year in the Napa, Sonoma and Santa Rosa areas.

While home owners are still trying to rebuild, what you may not know is that there are people that are STILL trying to find their lost pets...specifically cats.

There is a volunteer group in the North Bay called the Sonoma & Napa Fires Pet Rescue and Reunification group. These volunteers put food out for the cats at night, set up cameras to see watch the cats come eat and then set traps to catch them. The cats are then scanned for a microchip. If they have one, they are immediately reunited with their owners. If not, it takes a little longer.

The group has successfully reunited over 300 cats with their owners! Fun fact: The majority of the cats that they find are within 1 mile of their owners homes!
