A mountain lion was spotted walking around the backyard of a San Mateo home Monday morning and after almost a full day of trying to catch it, wildlife officials successfully tranquilized it.
The mountain lion wasn't small either. It weighed in at 80 pounds.
They located it less than a mile away from the home, on Alameda De Las Pulgas between Crystal Springs Road and Georgetown Avenue.
A little after 3:30 p.m., wildlife officials had tranquilized the puma and were en route to the University of California, Santa Cruz, home of the Puma Project.
