A 1,000-pound metal hammer that was a part of Healdsburg's temporary art installation was stolen recently. Police said the art piece, which was on display at the city's Community Center, was stolen on either Friday night or Saturday morning.
The suspects dragged the hammer and the base it was attached to across a parking lot and likely put it onto a truck.
A plaque in the ground in front of the hammer was uprooted, but the thieves left that, police said.
Anyone with information on the disappearance of this public art is asked to contact Healdsburg Police at 707-431-3377 or police@ci.healdsburg.ca.us.
