Stockton Principal Battling Cancer Receives Emotional Show of Support

A Stockton principal battling stage 4 breast cancer got a surprise from her students that she was NOT expecting.

Ms. Aissa has been battling breast cancer since 2016 and when she was diagnosed, she alerted the parents that she was dealing with health issues but  never had a direct conversation with the kids about it.

But kids pick up on things and they picked up on the fact that Ms. Aissa was sick.

Last month, during spirit week, the George W. Bush Elementary kids wanted to demonstrate their support for their beloved principal and opted to forego dressing in their school colors. Instead they dedicated a day in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and went all out in pink. Then, at the end of the day, all 500 kids joined in and sang "Lean On Me."

The timing of that song was especially poignant because just before that ceremony, Ms. Aissa learned that the cancer had returned.
