If you see a driverless car on the road in the Bay Area, don’t be too surprised…it’s legit now.
The DMV granted Waymo (which is formerly known as the Google self-driving car project) the first permit in the state to begin driverless testing on public roads.
Expect to see these cars in Mountain View, Sunnyvale, Los Altos, Altos Hills, and Palo Alto.
