South Bay residents have been so good about conserving water, they’ll be rewarded in an unusual way……water customers will be charged more.
San Jose Water is asking the California Public Utilities Commission for permission to add a 2.26 percent surcharge to future water bills. Conservation was so successful during the drought that the water company lost $9 million dollars in fees for the water that wasn’t sold to customers.
