Update at 6:10am: The accident has been cleared off of the roadway onto Broadway.

We've got a big traffic alert in the Bay Area this morning!
Hwy. 24 in the westbound direction is experiencing a 3 car accident that happened around 4:30am. The two left lanes are the ONLY open lanes. All other lanes are blocked.
We are hearing that two of the cars are badly damaged. It's going to take a while to get a tow truck on scene to tow those cars away.
Traffic is backed up into the Caldecott tunnel.
