The troubled Transbay Transit Center appears to have another problem. The rooftop park path is crumbling!
The walkway started crumbling in spots shortly after the park opened to the public last summer.
Officials thought it could be repaired, but now it turns out it has to be scrapped.
It's not a major inconvenience since the park had already been closed since last September along with the transit center it sits on, after cracks were discovered in support beams above Fremont Street.
The job to rip out the roadway is underway which is projected to cost somewhere in the neighborhood of a half-million dollars. The bids to replace it with cement are due back next week.
