This was news to us....Only 14 states allow unpermitted lemonade stands in the U.S. So if you're not in California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, North Dakota, Nebraska, Texas, Missouri, Louisiana, Illinois, New York, Vermont, Rhode Island or Connecticut, kids that sell lemonade without permits are breaking the law.
Country Time wants to provide parents and their kids with the tools to change the laws in their states through its website.
Country Time says they will help kids who get fined for running illegal lemonade stands this summer. They are encouraging parents to apply for a reimbursement and include an image of the child's permit or fine along with a description of what the lemonade stand means to their child and submit it to Country Time directly.
The company will review submissions and will cover permits or fines up to $300 that comply with the terms.
