It seems that many who were part of the original 1994 classic aren't the biggest fans of this year's photorealistic remake ofThe Lion King. The latest to speak out is Elton John.
In an interview with the British edition ofGQ, the singer blasted the 2019 film calling it a "huge disappointment," especially in the music department.
"Music was so much a part of the original and the music in the current film didn't have the same impact," said Elton, adding, "The magic and joy were lost."
Elton also points out that the 25-year-old soundtrack, which he co-wrote, "was the bestselling album of the year," while the current one, "fell out of the charts so quickly, despite the massive box office success."
