It never fails. After a disaster, natural or otherwise, the scammers come out of the woodwork. This time it’s callers posing as PG&E employees asking for people’s bank account numbers. Last week PG&E announced that SOME customers whose power was cut during the wildfires would be getting rebates. The scammers are telling people to expect a rebate if they give them their bank account number. PG&E would NEVER call you asking for that information. In the meantime the imposters drain victim’s bank accounts.
