Bay Area Business Owner Talks How Coronavirus Pandemic Affects His Business

San Francisco bar and restaurant Local Tap owner Paul Cardinale, like so many other small business owners in the Bay Area, suddenly found himself overnight with closed doors and zero money coming in to his business due to the coronavirus pandemic. His employees were also hugely affected as well.

Paul said he thinks that's been the hardest thing for him, his employees no longer being paid. Several of them have filed for unemployment but it's never the same as an actual paycheck.

Paul has started a Go-Fund-Me for his employees and as of this morning, has raised over $7,400 which he says, 100% of the money will be distributed to his employees in this tough time.

We were so moved by, not only Paul looking out for his employees, but how so many loyal patrons to Local Tap have chipped in. Some giving $10 or $25 or even $50. When you think about it, it's the cost of a beer or a lunch should you have gone there on a standard day. What a difference it makes if enough of us chip in, no matter how big or small the amount.

We are huge fans of Local Tap on the Morning Breeze. Walking into Paul's bar and restaurant reminds us of the San Francisco version of "Cheers." You are always greeted with a "hello" and a smile and Paul always comes up to your table and chats with you for a minute or two about whatever is going on in the world that day. He's the real deal and so are his employees.

There are so many businesses that are owned locally in the Bay Area by your friends and neighbors that are suffering financially right now. Help them out if you can. You have no idea what a difference it will make.

Paul's Go-Fund-Me for his employees can be found here if you'd like to donate.
