Rocco's Pizzeria In Walnut Creek Donating Meals To Medical Workers Daily!

We keep hearing great stories about individuals and businesses going above and beyond to give back to the community, and now we can add one more to the list.

Meet Rocco Biale, the owner of Rocco's Ristorante Pizzeria in Walnut Creek. Rocco has owned the restaurant for over 20 years and is always giving back to the public. He hosts many local sports teams pizza parties throughout the year, sponsors little league teams, football teams and the inside of his restaurant is covered in local sports teams photos.

Now Rocco is giving back to our healthcare workers during the coronavirus pandemic.

For the past two weeks, he’s been donating different pasta dishes each day to the intensive care units and emergency rooms at John Muir Medical Center and Kaiser Walnut Creek Medical Center.

His hard working staff prepares 120 meals each day.

Rocco created a sheet where local members of the community volunteer to pick up the food that he makes and deliver it to the hospitals. Every single slot is booked through the end of April.

Biale said his business is doing well right now because of takeout orders, so he’s grateful he has the means to donate. Everything is coming out of his own pocket.

Jack Kulp and Carolyn McArdle talked about it on the air! Listen below...
