Starting Monday May 4th, JetBlue Airways will have the strictest face covering policy of any airline in the U.S. From then on, all employees, and now all passengers will be required to wear face masks. Flight attendants were already required to wear face protection.
American and Delta said this week that they will require thousands of their employees to wear face masks,and make masks available to their passengers. American is also turning up their efforts to make sure their cabins are cleaner by disinfecting tray tables, seat belt buckles, window shades, seat-back screens, and surfaces in the cockpit.
Sara Nelson, president of the Association of Flight Attendants said all airlines should follow JetBlue’s lead, especially JetBlue’s advance notice to the public.Air travel in the U.S. is down 95% from a year ago.
