It was a strange sight yesterday as hundreds of face masks were dumped on 880 in Hayward on Wednesday. (April 29)
The California Highway Patrol reported hundreds of much-needed face masks strewn across interstate 880 from a pickup truck, whose driver had got out and dumped boxes of masks onto the highway. Motorists got out of their vehicles to pick up the masks, which isn’t a good idea in the middle of a freeway.
Fortunately there were no injuries and the masks had been picked up within an hour.
