While most moms on Mother's Day might opt for flowers or brunch, my mom wanted her garage cleaned out. It's actually an annual thing for my family and if a clean garage is what makes my mom happy, then so be it.
Typically we clean the garage out and just re-pack everything back into the garage in a neat and orderly fashion. This time around, I suggested to my mom that we hire 1-800-GOT-JUNK and haul some of our old stuff away.
I have to tell you, it took me about 60 seconds to make an appointment online. I was already impressed. When you book online, you choose the date that you want them to come to your house (or office) and then you select a 2 hour window. Easy!
We piled A LOT of junk in the driveway for 1-800-GOT-JUNK. The appointment was set for the 3pm-5pm window. At 12pm, we got a call and the driver said they were running early. That worked for us and they were there 30 minutes later!
The two men that came to haul our stuff away were SO nice! They estimated that our pile would fill up 1/2 of the truck. They said it would take them about 20 minutes to load and that's exactly how long it took. These guys worked HARD too! 2 barbeques. Multiple dog training gates and pens and crates. Flower pots. You name it. It ALL went into the truck.
And when it comes time for payment. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, it was contactless payment. I read my credit card number to them as we stood 6 feet away (with masks on). The total time from when they arrived to when they left was about 30 minutes. Incredible!
