Last week, the people that put it together announced that they had to cancel the Alameda County Fair. That fair hasn’t been cancelled in its 108 year history! Marin, San Mateo, Contra Costa and Sonoma Counties have announced cancellations of their fairs as well, which breaks our hearts here on the Morning Breeze.
Officials at the Santa Clara County Fair are still thinking about it, since that South Bay event doesn’t take place until August. Planners of the Solano County Fair, scheduled to start June 18th,are kicking around the idea of holding a “virtual fair”. Music would be online, as well as the annual livestock auction. All your favorite fair food would be available for pickup or home delivery. Not quite the same, but good under the circumstances.
