ER Nurse Works 12 Hour Shifts And Then Cooks For Kids Who Can't Afford Food

There’s no shortage of examples of how doctors and nurses are going above and beyond to help out during the pandemic.

Mindi Hoagey easily falls into this category.

Mindy lives outside of Philadelphia where she and her sister run a coffee shop: Honey’s Homebrewed Café. Mindy realized that that there was a need to feed the children in the area, so she spends every morning making meals to feed the kids at her local church. That in itself would be a long day, but she doesn’t stop there. When she’s done at the church, she begins a TWELVE hour shift as an ER nurse at the local hospital! She says that there are days she could just fall asleep on her feet. But with the help of good coffee and adrenaline, she keeps going.

She says “Food touches the soul. If it’s served with dignity and love, then the kids just respond to that.”

Jack Kulp and Carolyn McArdle talked about it on the air! Listen below...
