According to the U.S. Travel Association, every month the pandemic damage to the travel industry is shortened means $25 billion and 300,000 jobs added or saved. The incentive to get the travel up and running is there, but travelling as we used to know it will be a thing of the past.
James Canton who runs the Institute for Global Futures in San Francisco predicts, for one thing, we’ll all have to carry a “digital proof of health certificate” on your phone or smart watch when we travel internationally AND domestically. He knows that companies are already competing to develop the system. You’ll probably also need them to enter malls, amusement parks, and possibly entire cities. The good news is, travel bookings for 2021 already look strong.
