In a move that has both saddened and shocked many fans, Costco announced that it recently stopped selling its popular half-sheet cakes.
Costco also said they have no immediate plans to bring them back. They said they are focusing on their smaller 10" White & 10" Chocolate Cakes.
When asked why the store stopped selling the sheet cakes, a Costco representative explained the decision in the comments section: "To help limit personal contact and create more space for social distancing,"
The decision also coincides with a recommendation from several US states and health agencies to avoid or prohibit large gatherings in light of Covid-19. Half-sheet cakes feed around 50 people, while its 10-inch round cakes feed about 12.
