The Oakland Zoo had to shut their doors on March 17 and there are over 750 animals that need to be cared for.
Without ticket sales coming in, the zoo is having to rely on donations to feed and care for the animals, not to mention to pay the employees who care for the animals and keep them healthy.
A Bay Area bluegrass band, Dirty Cello, has stepped in to help the animals during the pandemic. Rebecca Roudman plays in Dirty Cello and she and her group played for the animals the other day and they seemed to really enjoy it!
