This comes as great news. The Ferry Building in San Francisco has reopened! Good news, indeed. But why the change?
At first, the Ferry Building was classified as an “indoor mall”. Like all malls in California, it had to close its doors because of the pandemic, and limit any stores inside the building to curbside pickup.
The city of San Francisco asked the state to rethink exactly how the Ferry Building should be classified. So, the state has since reclassified the historic building as a “transportation terminal” which allowed the building to reopen. Now the Ferry Building is open! That includes all the shops inside.
What about the Ferry Building restaurants? Well, the owners of the building have opened the enormous Ferry Building Plaza for outdoor dining, and it looks great! Check it out:
