During the pandemic, we’ve had toilet paper shortages, hand sanitizer, aluminum can, disinfectant wipes, and coin shortages. Now you can throw one more on to the pile…pepperoni.
Slowdowns at meat processing plants across the country have created the shortage. There are some issues with some other ingredients, like cheese, chicken wings and a few other items, but those process have remained stable.
Pepperoni prices have jumped from $4.12 a pound compared to $2.87 in January 2019. Here's the story:
