The clearing skies last week brought a high demand for car washes.
When the smoke and ash cleared for a few days last week, drivers were ready to get the ash washed off their cars, resulting in longer than usual lines at Bay Area car washes. In some areas, the ash fell like snow, and drivers were anxious to get it removed from for their cars because it could be caustic to paint surfaces. At one Novato car wash, Matt & Jeff’s, the hard working crew was washing 900 cars a day.
