The annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner will look a lot different this year because of the need for social distancing.
For over 28 years, hot meals were distributed to low income and homeless families at the Oakland Marriott. But this year, for the first time, the meals will be cooked there, but delivered to food pantry sites around Oakland. The event will now be called the Community Day of Thanks. Organizers estimate that they’ll be delivering 1,000 more meals this year than last year’s 2,000. The food distribution will be held on Tuesday, November 24th.
