There has been a surge in Christmas tree sales during the 2020 holiday season. One tree lot in Walnut Creek says on a typical day in 2019, that lot sold 80 trees. This year the average has been 280 to 300 trees every single day.
No doubt the pandemic is likely playing a role. One lot owner says they feel like Christmas trees are a symbol of happiness and the light at the end of the tunnel with everything that has been happening this year.
There are also a lot of first-time tree buyers as well. Experts are suggesting that's due to a lot of people likely staying home this year.
