If you were planning to visit the California side of Lake Tahoe, change your plans.
Beginning today, the CA side of Lake Tahoe is closed to tourists until at least January 1st. Even if you have hotel reservations in Placer, El Dorado or Nevada counties you won’t be permitted to stay. Campgrounds are also closed.
Ski resorts are staying open, but most require that you purchase lift tickets in advance online.
