Remember when the Rombeiro family of Novato won ABC’s “Great Christmas Light Fight” last year? Well, another Bay Area family is in the running THIS year.
The J.R. Mattos of San Jose, and his family, began decorating their 30,000 square foot apricot orchard in the Berryessa district a few years ago, and ABC took notice this year. 90,000 lights, a candy shop, reindeer, and a 20-foot tree with a synchronized light show are part of the display. And that’s just for starters. J.R. Mattos knows he’s doing because he also happens to be the lighting engineer for San Jose’s annual Christmas In The Park.
“The Great Christmas Light Fight” episode featuring the Mattos family decorations will air tonight at 8 on ABC.
