Are you confused as to whether or not Tahoe is open? You’re not alone.
Lake Tahoe is discouraging tourists from visiting because of the pandemic. This is one of the busiest times of the year for tourism in the area, and this is the second stay-at-home order for Tahoe since the pandemic began last March
The source of the confusion? The California and Nevada sides have different rules. On the California side, nonessential travel is prohibited, restaurants can only serve takeout, hotels have to turn visitors away, and bars are closed. But on the Nevada side, travelers can come and go as they please, visitors can eat indoors, go to bars, and play in the casinos.
