Harlan Earl of Grass Valley really lucked out.
The trip from his Grass valley home to Truckee near lake Tahoe was supposed to be uneventful, but it was anything but. He got caught in 6 to 8 feet of snow, according to the Nevada County Sheriff’s office. The trip was supposed to be only 60 miles. Then he got lost.
A week later, his family put together a search party. Then, a week later, the Nevada County Sheriff’s office got a 911 call from Earl himself. The call was dropped, the sheriff’s office was able to confirm his identity, and figure his GPS position.
