Residents of Daly City, and all over the Bay Area, are warning people of a new way burglars have figured out how to break into your house.
Thieves are drilling, or punching through garage doors to grab the quick release rope of your garage door. That’s the one you pull to open your garage door in case of a power failure. Once the thieves pull on the cord and open the door, they’re in free. And, as you can see by the pic, it’s isn’t much of a reach after they’ve gotten through the door.
According to police the best way around this is to remove the string, put it in an easy to find place, and make sure you have an easy find flashlight you can use to reattach the string in case of a blackout.
