Bay Area commute traffic is beginning to creep up to pre-pandemic levels….for better or for worse.
At the peak of the pandemic shutdown, the average Bay Area drive time was cut in half. But now the drive time in the Bay Area is close to what it was pre-pandemic. A good indicator is Bay Area bridge traffic, which is back to about 85% of what it was pre-lockdown. Before people started working from home, weekly bridge traffic was about 1.9 million drivers. Now, it’s back up to 1.6 million
