It’s happening more and more these days. Tahoe renters are getting booted from their rental homes.
The reason is simple. Their landlords are leaving San Francisco, moving back to Tahoe and taking their Tahoe rental properties off the market. Consequently, their long-term renters are being left out in the cold.
That means that there are fewer properties for rent thus, you guessed it, rental prices are going through the roof for what rental properties are left. In the past six months rental prices in the Tahoe area have shot up 50%.
