This year’s senior commencement was a really special one at Oakland’s McClymonds High School.
This was the first time in fifteen months that some of the seniors have seen each other. Lower grades in the Oakland Unified School District were able to get back into the classroom, high schoolers couldn’t go back to in-person.
Because of dropping COVID infection rates in Alameda County, the school district OK’d in-person graduations for seniors. Each senior was only able to invite two guests, but that didn’t put a damper on the celebration.
