Gas powered leaf blowers are about to be banned in two more Bay Area towns. Is yours one of them?
Hayward and Novato are both inching closer to banning them, and Oakland will be cracking down on their use. The whole controversy may come to an end, because there’s a bill before the State Assembly that would ban new leaf blowers across the state.
A ban in Novato will be voted on by City Council at their next meeting, and the ban in Hayward goes before their City Council next month.
Leaf blower use has been restricted in Palo Alto, Tiburon and Orinda, and banned altogether in Mill Valley, Berkeley, Los Gatos, Belvedere, Sonoma and Los Altos.
