If you’re planning on renting a car for your summer vacation, book it now!
Rental cars are in really short supply. There are a couple of reasons.
For starters, it seems like lots of people are heading out on “holiday”, as they say in the UK, because the lockdown created a pent up desire for travel. Another reason, there's a shortage of inventory. During the lull in the car rental business, the rental car agencies needed to raise cash fast, so they sold off hundreds of thousands of their cars, so there are fewer to rent.
AAA urges ordering a car as far in advance as you can..maybe even going through a travel agency to do so.
