There’s a jet fuel on the horizon, and it could affect commercial air routes. More importantly, it could impact CAL FIRE’s ability to fuel planes needed to fight wildfires.
Right now, it’s not a problem for CAL FIRE, but it could be in the future.
Fuel is delivered to airports by pipeline. But there’s shortage of pipeline space for jet fuel. A shortage of tanker truck drivers and trucks just adds to the problem. The fuel shortage is mostly smaller airports in the western states.
