You’ll probably see this happening more and more because of the drought.

Marin County residents will be able to fill up on recycled, or gray, water for free. The filling station is located on Armory Drive in San Rafael, across the street from the Marin County Civic Center.

You can use this water to wash outdoor furniture, driveways, walls and sidewalks. You can also use it to water plants and lawns.

You CAN’T use it for drinking water, showering, cooking or filling swimming pools. 

A max of 300 gallons are allowed per trip, and you need to fill out an application that you can find here.
